Dental Assistant III

Course Outline

This is a laboratory course. It will take the dental assistant through the process of pouring impressions and making impression trays and bite blocks for the construction of the maxillary and mandibular dentures. This course will go into the use of the Proform machine in constructing the denture baseplates, and the construction of the mandibular bite appliances.

After completing this course you’ll be able to:

  1. Make impression trays and bite blocks for the construction of the maxillary and mandibular dentures.
  2. Construct bite blocks.
  3. Instruct the patient in the proper care of bite appliance.
