Supervisory Skills

Course Description

Health-care as we have known it in the past no longer exists. Supervisors of the future will face challenges and opportunities not previously anticipated. The purpose of this book is to prepare supervisors for the future by imparting required competencies and gaining the necessary and essential survival skills. Yesterday’s ideas, tools and techniques worked then. Tomorrow’s challenging and uncertain environment demands new ways of thinking, creating and functioning. The process of becoming a competent nursing supervisor is a growth journey and a process of continuous activity, unique to each supervisor and specific work environment. Survival skills will facilitate that process and challenge supervisors to prosper in the emerging opportunities of health-care delivery. Due to the chaotic times, uncertainty, and cultural changes where all supervisors work and practice, this information is essential.
