TORRANCE SCHOOL TRAINS PEOPLE

FOR HIGH-PAYING REWARDING CAREERS

Graduated from high school and don’t know what you want to do? Been a career professional for several years, but now interested in switching to something else? Have you become a victim of massive layoffs that are sweeping through our economy making you the latest “dislocated” worker? Want a job that not only pays well but is rewarding?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you should consider a career in the healthcare field. As most business professionals will tell you, this is one of the few areas of our economy that’s still growing in employment and compensation. And future looks only brighter as universal health care becomes a reality. The Obama administration is determined to guarantee basic health care as a birthright of every citizen. This is one of many different factors that’s going to keep the jobs in the healthcare field a hot commodity.

Homestead Schools in Torrance is doing its part to train young people to take up these jobs. The school offers a highly regarded vocational nursing program that prepares students to become licensed nurses and secure jobs in clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. As many graduates of the nursing program will readily testify, Homestead has helped them turn their lives around. With a job in the nursing field they not only earn a great salary and benefits while doing something they truly enjoy instead of putting time into a job they don’t particularly care about just to get a paycheck. For many people knowing that their jobs are not going to be eliminated due to economic downturns is in itself a great source of security and happiness. Further, as they gain experience in their new careers and enjoy the gratitude of patients there are many avenues for advancement to even more rewarding jobs.

Homestead Schools offers a fully accredited vocational nursing program that can fit anyone’s schedule: you can choose a day schedule of 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., or an evening schedule of 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., or a part-time weekend schedule. The school is approved by the Work Investment Board which pays a majority of tuition in behalf of the students to retrain them in this career. But above all, the school is approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education to offer federal student aid in the form of grants and guaranteed loans. Nearly every student qualifies for this aid. So you see, there’s absolutely no reason for anyone who has the desire and determination to make a better life to hold back for lack of money.

The school has several new classes starting in the coming weeks and there are only a limited number of openings remaining. The school gives laptop to each admitted student; the laptop comes loaded with thousands of exam questions that the student can practice throughout the year to pass the board exam. You’ll also get text books, uniforms, and tools and equipment you need for clinical training.

The school is located at 23800 Hawthorne Blvd., Suite 200, Torrance. You should call (310) 791-9975 and make an appointment with George, the student counselor. You’ll be able to tour the school, visit the classrooms, and the skills lab, meet with instructors and students, and fill out your student aid application. You’ll be on your way to a rewarding career.
