Homestead Schools, Inc. is a California corporation
organized in 1991 with the stated goal of
developing, publishing and providing educational
programs to a variety of audiences. Broadly
speaking, educational activities offered by the
organization run the gamut of nursing, dentistry,
psychiatry, clinical social work, mental health
counseling, marriage and family therapy, dietetics,
and medical sciences as well as other areas such as
real estate, law, finance, insurance and consumer
traffic education.
The
following is a summary of organization’s various
activities and educational programs. This overview
sheds light on the organization’s functions and
goals and shows how they are interrelated in
achieving the overall purpose of the organization.

Nursing
Homestead Schools, Inc. was organized as a
California corporation on December 27, 1991 and
obtained approval from the California Board of
Registered Nursing as a provider of continuing
education to nurses (BRN # CEP 9515) in early 1992.
The organization became operational in August 1992
and actively began providing independent study
offerings in nursing education on a regular basis.
The organization obtained approval as a provider of
continuing education in nursing from other state
boards of nursing: Delaware Board of Nursing
(Provider No. 105, May 1993); Florida Board of
Nursing (Provider No. FBN 2807, December 1994).
These accreditations have been renewed regularly on
a biennial basis since then.
In
January 1994, the organization applied to the
American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on
Accreditation and was granted accreditation in
August 1994. In August 2006, ANCC renewed our
accreditation for a period of six years to run
through 2012. At present, the organization has been
providing continuing education offerings to nurses
in at least a dozen states for over 15 years using
the Commission on Accreditation educational design
criteria
