Pharmacy Technician Program is designed to provide students with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary for an entry-level technician position in a retail, hospital or home-health pharmacy.
This course deals with dosage calculations, product recognition, and drug distribution systems. Major emphasis is placed on learning the trade and generic names of selected drugs and their classification. Pharmaceutical and medical terminology including abbreviations and symbols used in prescribing, dispensing and charting are also discussed. Basic anatomy and related pathological conditions are introduced.

_____ TB test with positive result needs chest X-ray (must be done in California)
_____ X-ray result (radiology report): Hard Copy of Test Result
_____ Tetanus shot (should not be older than 10 years)
_____ Varicella Titer (if the result is non-immunity or negative, immunization is needed) (expires in 10 years)
_____ Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Titer (if the result is non-immunity or negative, immunization is needed)
_____ Hepatitis B: Series of three (3) shots is a must with required interval such as:
- 1st Shot – anytime but at least 6 months prior to student’s clinical
- 2nd Shot – should not be more than 60 days from the 1st shot
- 3rd Shot - should not be more than 180 days or 6 months from the 1st shot
